Reading & Writing Mastery is a structured-literacy program designed to strengthen essential skills in reading, comprehension, writing, and spelling for students in Grades 4–8. Using evidence-based instruction, the program helps learners develop the tools they need to read with confidence, understand complex texts, and express their ideas clearly in writing.
Students receive targeted support in:
- Reading fluency and accuracy
- Comprehension strategies, including summarizing, inferencing, and identifying key ideas
- Writing skills, including sentence structure, organization, and clear written expression
- Spelling and vocabulary development based on structured word study
- Critical thinking and communication through meaningful reading and writing tasks
Instruction is delivered in small groups and 1:1, allowing educators to tailor lessons to each learner’s strengths and needs. The goal of Reading & Writing Mastery is to build strong, independent readers and writers who are equipped for success in school and beyond.
Participant Eligibility
Participants attending the sessions must:
- Not be diagnosed/identified with an intellectual disability or significant behavioural support needs.
