The Barton Reading and Spelling System is dedicated to enhancing the reading, writing, and spelling abilities of school-aged children and adults struggling with low literacy levels attributed to reading difficulties or disabilities.
This method shows the phonemic structure of written language through a multi-sensory framework, recognizing that individuals facing reading challenges excel when all senses—visual, auditory, tactile, and kinesthetic—are engaged.
The Barton Reading & Spelling System is:
- Research based
- Orton-Gillingham based
- Uses multi-sensory instruction
- An explicit and systematic phonics program
- Proven to be successful in teaching children and adults, especially those with learning disabilities
Each session is conducted one-on-one, providing a focused learning environment and fostering meaningful interaction. New participants are required to complete an assessment to ensure the program aligns with their needs and abilities.
