Committee Involvement

Pay Attention and Learn Task Force

The Task Force is composed of a group of concerned individuals and professionals in Windsor and Essex County whose purpose is "to promote a community understanding of learning disabilities and ADHD and the associated needs of individuals and those who support them, as well as to facilitate the development and co-ordination of resources."

The following are the primary areas of focus for the Task Force:

  • Research
  • Public education
  • Help facilitate clinical services
  • Training for post-secondary students
  • Peer support and networking
  • Support to individuals with learning disabilities or ADHD


Membership on the Task Force consists of the following individuals:

Special Education Advisory Committees (SEAC)

According to the Ministry of Education, each school board in the province of Ontario must have a SEAC. The purpose of SEAC is to provide important advice on special education.  The committee is comprised of trustees and representatives of local associations that further the interests and well-being of groups of exceptional children.

LDAWE is represented on each of the local English-speaking SEACs.

Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board (WECDSB):

  • Main: Christine Stanley
  • Alternate: Lucie Lombardo



Windsor Essex Employment Group

The Windsor Essex Employment Group (WEEG) is composed of a group of employment support service providers in Windsor and Essex County whose goal is "to maximize local employment services through networking by identifying, creating, and promoting accessible employment pathways for persons with disabilities in Windsor/Essex."



Windsor Essex Association for Volunteer Administration

The Windsor Essex Association for Volunteer Administration (WEAVA) exists "to promote and strengthen the profession of Volunteer Administration within Windsor and Essex County by providing networking and professional development opportunities to its members."
